This large-scale commercial application will be the second largest geothermal system in the Middle East and North Africa region. The building's 225 kW (64 ton) cooling requirement and 150 kW (43 ton) heating requirement, along with the building's domestic hot water needs, will be fully met by a vertical closed-loop geothermal system that utilizes two WaterFurnace heat-pumps. Due to the limited area surrounding the UCI2 Building, the entire vertical closed-loop will be installed below the building's foundation. The UCI2 Building includes 7 floors and a built-up area of 4,626 m2 designed for innovative office space use. Source: MENA Geothermal |
