The new chain store will not only be heated but also cooled in summertime by a ground source heat pump system and not as usual by gas boiler and air-conditioner . Compared to the conventional system the investment cost for the heat pump installation are about 150.000 Euro higher. Nevertheless, ALDI hopes for a reasonable payback time.
