The GROUND-REACH project targets ground source heat pumps (combined with storage systems where appropriate) for heating and cooling of buildings. In particular, it
- identifies present status and future potential towards reducing CO2 emissions and primary energy demand,
- analyses their contribution towards the buildings performance directive,
- compiles and evaluates best practice information from all over Europe,
- defines measures to overcome barriers and sets up a strategic promotion plan for long term market penetration, and
- launches a large scale promotional campaign addressing the awareness and attitudes of key professional groups through a variety of effective promotion tools such as an international conference and exhibition, the website, meetings, brochures, press releases, emails, a newsletter and the European Geothermal Heat Pumps Committee.
